The Oscar Nomination List Has Been Released Today, Tune In Here Regularly For My Takes On Each Category

Man, Cineplex BADLY dropped the ball here. I REALLY loved this company before the end of 2021. They were good to us, releasing movies on their proper release dates on their website for a very fair price to rent. Unlike Disney Plus who made you pay $30 to watch their new movies, or wait 6 months before they're free.

But what the hell guys!? How boneheaded do you have to be to screw up this badly!? You had to get a boutique drive-in to bail you out on a movie (Shout out to my Scream 5 review).

But now you're cinematically extorting me and my fellow cinephiles to go to you theatres! Scream 5, Spiderman: No Way Home, House Of Gucci, King Richard, and way too many more. You put them on your website telling people to pre-order them and then never give updates on the status of adding them to your website for rent.

This was annoying me for months now but now the final straw has come with Oscar season hitting full swing. I have been an annual viewer of the Oscars for years now. And have been ready to defend MANY of their controversial picks or woke-natured decisions. However, I had never fully gotten the chance to watch all of the nominated films and form my own educated choices. But I thought this year would be different. Most of the movies nominated are ones that I was genuinely intrigued by at the start. King Richard, Dune, Belfast, West Side Story, and Licorice Pizza, and others are ones I didn't know, but was interested by after researching the plot. Films like Coda, Drive My Car, Nightmare Alley. I concocted a 4-page list of every film nominated for any award this year, and made it my mission to watch all of them before the long awaited night of March 27th. I thought I had it in the bag. I was already choosing my reward for winning the Oscars Pool bet with my family. And then I came to a realization. Where the hell am I going to watch these movies? Cineplex won't add anything new and I'm not paying $20 a movie to watch them all on YouTube movies. So I'm kind of stuck.

Of course, there is an odd nomination for a film on Netfilx, or Disney Plus, so I'm not completely in the dark. Out of the nominations for Best Picture, I've seen Don't Look Up and Dune. So I leave my Oscar fate up to the hopes and chances that they add them to stream in times closer to the ceremony day. But once those times come. I am going to be binge watching movies nominated, and post all of my thoughts on what should win and the snubs and WTF moments that have happened this year. (*Cough*Cough* Don't Look Up). So until then everybody. I can't wait.
